| Miniature Roses |
M brought me these miniature roses from his garden; each rose is less than half an inch across!
Tuesday was another cloudy grey day. Typical of what is called, "May Gray" by the weather forecasters.
I spent a relaxed morning, but, in the afternoon, I ran some errands. I went to the pharmacy first, to pick up one of my medication refills that was ready. I received another $2 "Extra Care Bucks" coupon and I found one type of cereal that was on sale for $1.99 a box and bought it. Most of the other cereals that I normally buy, which used to go on sale for $1.99 a box are now on sale for $2.99 a box, but, this particualr cereal was still priced at $1.99.
After that, I put gas to the car. Gas has gone up to $6.09 at the lowest priced gas station in my neighborhood. I put my usual $50 worth of gas as that's what I currently budget for gas.
Then, I went to the library to pick up two books that I had put on hold. There is one other book that is also on hold, which has not arrived, yet.
After running my errands, I came home and made some tea.
Later, I went with my daughter to the community college so she could attend the open gym to do her gymnastics. Once again, I waited in the car and read while she did her gymnastics. Daughter drove us there and back.
We had cold cuts sandwiches for brunch, on Tuesday. For dinner, I cooked a fresh pot of rice and made a cucumber salad and we had leftover keema curry. We had leftover lemon squares that daughter's friend A had made with lemons we had given her and brought over on Monday night. We gave her more lemons in return.
I also called friend R and chatted with her, after dinner.
On Tuesday, I was grateful for:
- The availability of medications
- Cereal on sale
- The availability of gas
- Daughter was able to do her gymnastics
- A safe drive to the gym and back
Tuesday's joyful activities included reading and watching videos online.
Plans for Wednesday include:
- Tending to the garden with M
- Doing some paperwork
- Some housework
How was your Tuesday? What are your plans for Wednesday?

I love the miniature roses. I have had some in pots in the past but once planted outside I never managed to keep them going.
ReplyDeleteThe miniature roses are lovely, aren't they? So tiny and delicate. Maybe you need to grow them as indoor plants. :)
DeleteI usually buy cereal with my ExtraCare Bucks, too, and wait for the 1.99 prices. It adds a little variety to the cereals we normally eat.
ReplyDeleteMany of the cereals that used to go on sale for $1.99 had a $2.99 sale price this time, so I was happy to find one brand of cereal for $1.99, still. Not a variety I normally buy, but, we are willing to give it a try. :)
DeleteWhat a lovely gift from M. I'm glad you got all your errands done! Hope you enjoy the books!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon. Yes, it is a lovely gift from M. And I'm glad I was able to get my errands done. I had an email from the library that the other book I had requested has come in, so, I shall probably pick it up, tomorrow. :)
DeleteIt feels so good to get errands and chores done. Your miniature roses are lovely.
ReplyDeleteYes, it does feel good to get things done, Linda. The roses are lovely, aren't they? They are so tiny!
DeleteThose roses are exquisite!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you found the cereal at the right price. These days you need to be a ninja at shopping to get anywhere!
Thank you, Lyssa. Yes, I'm still on the hunt for bargains! :D
DeleteWhat a cute little rose. They look good in that vase.
ReplyDeleteYou had a productive day of running errands topped of by free cereal - hard to beat that.
I'm glad your daughter went back for another session of gymnastics
Thank you, Debra. The roses are a bit of a novelty, I think. M is a member of the American Rose Society and has had some of the photos he's taken of his roses accepted for publishing in the Rose Society's annual calendar. :) The vase is one of two such vases (same dark blue color but different shapes and designs) that my mother either bought or was given as a gift, back in the 1980s. I use them both on a regular basis and they've escaped decluttering. :)
