| Daughter's New Sweater |
On Sunday, I finished knitting daughter's sweater. It is the same style as the one I knitted for myself, but, she wanted her sweater to be a little longer. I started knitting the sweater on January 16. It took me just over 3 weeks to knit the sweater.

Daughter tried it on today; it fits her well and she is very pleased with it, which makes me happy.
Now I am wondering what my next project should be. I have some quilts in progress that I could finish and I have some clothes to be altered. Of course, there's always paperwork and filing to be done, too! What do you think?

What a lovely sweater, it's no wonder that your daughter loves it. As I mostly knit while watching TV, my knitting is very plain, it would probably take me about 3 months or more to knit something like that. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joy. I, too, knit while watching TV or videos on my laptop. Let's just say that I watched a LOT of videos and some TV! LOL.
DeleteI'm sure your daughter is happy with the pretty sweater. It will go with anything.
ReplyDeleteHere's my recommendation. I'd work on the paperwork for a little and then reward myself with working on a quilt to change it up a little.
Thank you, June. My daughter loved all the cables. She's just learned how to knit cables, herself (she's making herself a scarf), so she knows the work that goes into doing them. :)
DeleteI need to follow your recommendation and at least start on the paperwork and reward myself with sewing. I've been procrastinating on the paperwork (I always do!)
That is a lovely sweater. Both the color and pattern are so soft. How nice that you made it for your daughter. She must love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Celie. We are both very pleased with how the sweater turned out. I have more of the yarn left and I'm thinking I might want a sweater in that color, myself. :)
DeleteThe sweater turned out beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jean. :)
DeleteI'd work on the quilts. That'd be my first choice with altering the clothes a close second. Filing and paperwork don't even make it to the list!
ReplyDeleteI like the jumper. Did you make that pattern up yourself? xx
Thank you, Eileen. Yes, the sewing projects are what I want to do, but, I might have to do a bit of paperwork first and then, reward myself with the sewing as June (Live and Learn) suggested. :D
DeleteYes, I made up the pattern on the jumper; it's just basic cables, repeated right across the front. :)
The sweater is beautiful and I like how the neckline looks, too.
ReplyDeleteYour next project should be something that also makes you happy, which I suppose eliminates filing and paperwork, although they might just make you feel relieved that they are done with!
Thank you, Bushlady. I did struggle a bit with that neckline, but, it worked out well. :)
DeleteI did a little bit of paperwork, today, and started on the alterations while I pondered on what my next project should be. I think a quilt is calling my name!
How lovely! I'm sure your daughter will really enjoy wearing it.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon. She wore it, today. :)
DeleteThe sweater is beautiful. I am seriously impressed with your skill and speed.
ReplyDeleteI vote for doing something you enjoy, even if you really enjoy paperwork Anne in the kitchen
Thank you, Anne. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with paperwork. I hate starting it, but, once started, I do enjoy the process and the final product with everything neatly filed. :)
DeleteOh, that is just beautiful! I love the shape! I know she will enjoy wearing that. That is a treasure!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mandy. She wore it today and it looked good on her. :)
DeleteThat sweater is gorgeous! I bet it's wonderfully warm as well. The stitches on the welt look so intricate and fiddly, it must have taken you hours! You are a wonderful knitter.
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting to see that it was Paton's yarn. It's sold over here and was my grandmother's favourite. It's reassuring how some things endure and I'm sure that sweater will be good for your daughter for many years.
Thank you, Lyssa. I enjoyed making that sweater for my daughter. Paton's yarn is a favorite of mine, too, and I tend to buy it when I want wool as opposed to acrylic. I usually wait until it goes on sale and stock up. :)
DeleteWhat a gorgeous sweater.
DeleteThank you, Linda. :)
DeleteYour daughter's sweater turned out very pretty. I'm glad it fits well and she likes it. The color is nice also.
ReplyDeleteAs far as what you should do next, what are you leaning towards? What are you in the mood for.
When it comes to paperwork, have you started collecting paperwork for your accountant for taxes?
I've been slowly entering my info into my tax software as it becomes available to stay ahead of the game.
Thank you, Debra. It is a pretty color, isn't it?
DeleteAs for my next project, I know I should do paperwork, but, I've pulled out a quilt I had started mending, last year. One of my fist quilts, in a Log Cabin variation, with the smallest pieces being 1 inch square. Lots of memories associated with that quilt, with two of my stepfather's shirts, one of my shirts, one of my mother's saris used to make it, during a time when we didn't have much spare money to buy fabric. The fabric from one of the shirts is frayed and I am sewing new patches over the frayed fabric.
Yes! I am collecting the tax paperwork as the documents arrive in the mail! I have a file folder marked TAXES on it, on my desk! You are very much ahead of the game! :)
It looks great. I think I fancy one in navy..!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lady Ella. It would look very nice in navy, too, I think. :)
