A Bracelet of Days set the theme for January's monthly photo challenge as "Begins with A". Here are my finds; let's just call it the plant version!

Yes, there are other things that begin with A, but, apparently, I never made it out of the garden! LOL.
Thank you, Eileen, for hosting the monthly photo challenge. I enjoyed taking part in it. I'm looking forward to Februrary's challenge.
That was fun. I've never seen a foxtail asparagus fern before.
ReplyDeleteThank you, June. The foxtail fern was given to me by one of my cousins. So far, it's the only one I have of its kind.
DeleteGood news about the avocado. You found some good A examples, and it's nice to see your sun. Anthurium is another houseplant here. Mum has one I gave her quite a few years ago, and it is thriving. It's been split and re-potted several times.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lady Ella. Yes, I'm happy that the avocado tree is still alive. The anthurium is actually being grown as a houseplant, here, too. :)
DeleteI always get excited when I'm the first to post a comment on someone's blog. Somehow it feels like I should get a trophy or something, lol. You had some good photo's for the A's. I never knew Aloe plants had a flower. I had an aloe plant years ago and at the time was pregnant. Someone ran into me at work spilling my cup of coffee as I was heading back to my office with it. It spilled on my large pregnant tummy, someone grabbed the aloe plant, broke off piece pulled up my blouse and started rubbing it on my belly. Pronto action kept me from getting a burn mark or blister.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy. Sorry, no trophy this time! :D
DeleteYes, aloe plants do have flowers. But there are several different varieties of aloe and aloe vera, which is the plant that soothes burns is just one of them and it has light orange flowers. I have some aloe vera in my back garden. Good, fast thinking on the part of the person who applied the aloe vera juice on your belly. :)
Great photos. Especially love the first fern!!! Have a great weekend- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diana. Hope you have a lovely weekend, too. Stay warm!
DeleteBeautiful plants in your garden Bless. I miss my gardens. Jean
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jean. I'm sorry you are missing your gardens. Do you have houseplants, instead?
DeleteYes I do. Not lots though some are getting fairly tall
DeleteSounds lovely. My mother had a houseplant that reached the ceiling!
DeleteBella questa idea di fare foto di cose che iniziano con la A.
ReplyDeleteTu hai scelto proprio delle belle piante.
Molto particolare la prima che non ho mai visto
Stefania said (per Google translate): This is a great idea to take pictures of things that start with the letter A.
DeleteYou chose some really beautiful plants.
The first one is very unusual; I've never seen it before.
Thank you, Stefania. I enjoy the monthly photo challenges. I was surprised to see how many plants I have that begin with A and I didn't even photograph all of them! The agapanthus, for example, and the arugula. :)
Lovely photos
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon. :)
DeleteI'm intrigued by the little berries on the Asparagus Foxtail Fern.
ReplyDeleteThe berries are toxic, but, they are very attractive, aren't they?
DeleteThese are all gorgeous 😍 ❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. :)
DeleteBeautiful plants, I particularly like the foxglove fern.
ReplyDeleteThank you. :)
DeleteOops did I comment as anonymous. If so sorry, I said the plants are beautiful especially the foxglove fern.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon, for both comments, especially for identifying yourself. :) Yes, the foxtail fern seems to be a favorite with many. :)
DeleteI'm impressed that you found all of your A photos in your garden. Well done, I wasn't expecting that! Thanks for joining in this month. Joy has selected the theme for February, which is 'Food', and if you're happy to do so, please will you select the theme for March? xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Eileen. It wasn't my intention to photograph only plants, but, that's just how it turned out! You know I love participating in the photo challenge and I'd be happy to select the theme for March! :)
DeleteI love seeing your garden! Thanks...
ReplyDeleteThank you, e. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the pictures. :)
DeleteFun ! Homegrown A entries for the photo challenge.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all of your entries.
I really like the aloe flowers and the Avocado! It came back nicely.
I did have fun photographing all the "A" plants! Although I forgot the arugula and the grown from a seed apple tree. The avocado gets full marks for trying. :)
