| A New Pair of Socks |
On Tuesday, I finished knitting another new pair of socks - the photograph doesn't show the colors properly, but, the socks are knitted with dark blue and light blue acrylic yarn. This pair will be given as a New Year's gift to one of my relatives.
I spent part of the day wrapping gifts and tagging them. I also ordered two additional gifts that I wanted to complete the gifts I had planned to give to two young people on my gift list. A set of pens to go with a journal for one person and a set of crochet hooks, yarn needles, and stitch markers to go with a book on crochet for another person who wants to learn how to crochet. This seems to be the year of crafts/activity kits. I had bought some unfinished wooden signs with saying from the dollar store and they will be paired with a set of acrylic paints and paint brushes to be given as gifts and one other person is receiving a painting kit.
I also sorted through and tidied two of the drawers in the sideboard where I store gift wrap and gift bags, etc. I have Christmas related gift wrap in one drawer and all occasion gift wrap in the second drawer. I still need to sort through the third drawer I am hoping that I will be able to store my card making supplies in that drawer.
On Tuesday, I was grateful for:
- Being able to order the last of the gifts online
- Free delivery
- Weekly trash collections
- My yarn stash
- Working appliances

Tuesday's joyful activity was knitting.
Plans for Wednesday include tidying the third drawer in the sideboard and making more cards.
How was your Tuesday? What are your plans for Wednesday?

Great job on the socks, and it sounds like you came up with very thoughtful and wonderful gifts!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha. I hope everyone will enjoy the gifts I give them. :)

Yes, it's important to be mindful in the present, isn't it? Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment.
DeleteI really like your socks. They will make a welcome gift.
ReplyDeleteI keep gift wrap and other related items in a huge plastic container under a bed.
Thank you, Bushlady. At least two people I've given socks to in the past have told me that their socks are worn out and torn. I'm taking it as a hint that new socks would be welcome! :D
DeleteI used to store gift wrap under the bed, at one time. I might start doing that, again; at least for the Christmas ones as I only need them once every year. :)
For most people, socks are hard to knit, but you just whip them out in no time! Sounds like you are giving some very thoughtful and fun gifts.
ReplyDeleteThis pair of socks took me three days to knit. As long as I'm not doing anything fancy like cables and patterns, they knit up fast. :)
DeleteThose socks look great. Whoever gets those is very lucky!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne. As I stated above, at least two people have made it a point to tell me that the socks I gave them a few years ago have worn out and torn and I am taking that as a hint that they'd like a new pair! :D
DeleteI'm sure the recipient of the socks will enjoy wearing them.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to keep gift wrapping materials organized and straight. But it's a good feeling when it is that way. Easy to find things.
I hope you got your 3rd drawer all tended to.
Thank you, Debra. I do hope the recipient of the socks will enjoy wearing them.
DeleteI am considering storing the holiday gift wrap in an under the bed storage container. That would free up a drawer for stuff I need year round rather than for 2 or 3 weeks each year.
Yes, I did sort through the top drawer - daughter had put all her gift wrap etc., that she brought down with her, in that drawer and I was able to store them in the other two drawers. The 3rd drawer now stores only the paintings we did when we took some online painting classes; we need to create a gallery wall for them and once we do that, the drawer will be available for additional storage.
Last year I stored my 4 rolls of leftover Xmas paper in my bottom bureau drawer behind where I keep my folded corduroy pants that I wear in winter. The rolls took up seemingly no room sort of stacked on top of each other. Who knew there was all that room back there ?lol
ReplyDeleteThey didn't move around either. I never noticed them.
Sounds like you found the perfect place to store your leftover gift wrap!
