| Rice, Kebabs, and Cream Puffs, Compliments of Neighbor S |
On Saturday, I helped daughter make the fish cutlets. I suppose one could call them fish croquettes. Daughter made the balls, dipped them in beaten eggs and coated them with the breadcrumbs we made on Friday and I deep fried them. She took a picture of the finished cutlets, "For your blog", but, forgot to forward the picture to me and she's not home right now, so I will post the picture another day.
The mixture we made was enough for 50 fish cutlets. She set aside 25 of them to take to the Friendsgiving potluck dinner her friend is hosting, set aside another dozen or so to give to her friend P who was giving her a ride to and from the dinner, we sampled a couple of them, ourselves, and when neighbor S called to say she's bringing me some leftovers from their Thanksgiving dinner, we gave her some of the fish cutlets to try, too.
S brought us a container of rice, a container of kebabs, and two of the biggest cream puffs I've ever seen! We put the rice and the kebabs in the fridge since we were both rather full from sampling the cutlets, but, we did try a piece of the cream puff:

| Half of the Cream Puff |
My daughter and I shared one quarter of the cream puff. It was delicious, but, the filling was very sweet and neither of us could manage more than a couple of bites, each!
Later in the evening, I dropped daughter off at her friend P's parent's home. P's parents came to the car to ask me in, but, I declined as I knew they would have been tired as they had just driven back from visiting family in Nevada.
After I came home from dropping daughter off, I relaxed, watched some online videos, knitted a bit, and sorted through some of my craft supplies. I wanted to make my holiday greeting cards, but, I made only one. I need to buy more card stock or blank cards to make the rest.
I had made some ham and potato soup, on Friday night for dinner, and I was going to have some of the leftover soup for my dinner, tonight. Instead, I had a craving for buttered toast with a little of my strawberry jam and that was what I had for dinner!
On Saturday, I am grateful for:
- Being able to help daughter make the fish cutlets; she was very appreciative of my help
- Neighbor S blessing us with some delicious food
- Being able to share some of the fish cutlets with her in return
- Daughter getting a ride to her friend A's Friendsgiving dinner and back
- Daughter being able to enjoy getting together with her friends
Saturday's joyful activities included making a card (even if it was just one card) and knitting.
Plans for Sunday include changing my bed sheets and doing a load of laundry and doing some cooking for the freezer. The garden should be watered, too.
How was your Saturday? What are your plans for Sunday?

Those cream puffs are HUGE!!! The granddaughters stopped over last night and helped us put up our Christmas tree
ReplyDeleteThey really are enormous! How lovely to have the granddaughters help put up your Christmas tree! I'm sure they enjoyed that!
DeleteI sounds like you had a full and joyful Thanksgiving, as did I with my sons. I pray thankful prayers every day and Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Terra; yes, we did enjoy our Thanksgiving celebrations. I am glad that you had a lovely Thanksgiving with your sons. I, too, say thankful prayers on a daily basis. :)
DeleteSono felice che tu e tua figlia abbiate avuto un bellissimo sabato.
ReplyDeleteHai proprio ragione, quei bignè sono enormi.
Stefania said (per Google Translate): I'm so glad you and your daughter had a wonderful Saturday.
DeleteYou're absolutely right, those cream puffs are huge.
Thank you, Stefania. We did have a lovely day and aren't those cream puffs enormous?
It's so nice to read that you had a good thanksgiving with your daughter. That cream puff looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Celie. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving, too. The cream puff was delicious! But, definitely something to be portioned out or shared! :)
DeleteAll the food looks delicious, but a big WOW on those cream puffs! I'm looking forward to seeing the photo of the fish cutlets your daughter took. I hope you are having a nice, relaxing Sunday.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha. Those are statement cream puffs, aren't they? I will post the picture of the fish cutlets, today. We are having a relaxed day, today. I hope you are, too. :)
DeleteI never saw such huge cream puffs. No wonder you and your daughter could only eat part of one. The other food looks delicious, too.
ReplyDeleteEach cream puff is about the size of four regular ones, I think! We haven't tried the other food that S shared, but, I'm sure it will be quite tasty. :)
DeleteThose cream puffs look so good! X
ReplyDeleteThey were delicious!
DeleteOh my - just look at that cream puff. Ok, I'll say it. I would've eat the entire one myself. You and your daughter are much too virtuous to join my bakery treat eating club. No, such a thing doesn't exist but if it did, you two could pass me your leftovers anytime.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice gift from neighbor S.
I am looking forward to seeing the photos of those little fish balls.
LOL, I'd love to join your bakery treat eating club. To be quite honest, I, too, probably could have eaten a full cream puff if I really make an effort, or, at least half of one, but, I have to be careful of my sugar intake and I've been feasting on pumpkin pie since Thanksgiving!
