After the Rain

Whiskers on Kittens

In my previous post, I showed some pictures of raindrops on roses and Angela asked, "But where are the whiskers on kittens?" and Dancer was happy to oblige (thank you, Daughter, for taking the picture).

After Tuesday's rain, Wednesday turned out to be a bright and sunny day.  I put gas to the car in the early afternoon.  Later, M was here to tend to the garden.  He didn't need to water the garden after the previous day's rain, so he weeded and tidied the place a bit.

Later in the afternoon, daughter and I went for a follow-up visit with the prosthodontist and he went over what he thought would be the best plan of action for me.  Daughter asked some good questions and summarized the treatment plan that was out lined and I think the prosthodontist was impressed by her, because he asked her if she would like a job working at the dental clinic!  LOL.  She declined the offer, saying she already had a job she enjoyed very much.  We are still going to wait until I have my appointment with the oral surgeon, scheduled for next week, before we make a decision, but, I made an appointment to have my teeth cleaned by the dental hygienist.  Not something I am looking forward to!

On the way home, we stopped at a nearby outdoor mall to browse around in the Japanese imports store, a favorite of daughter's.  She got a few things including some snacks.  Then, we stopped at the French bakery to pick up a baguette, which we had, sandwiched with chicken curry, for dinner.

Today (Thursday) was another sunny day.  I did several loads of laundry, including my bed sheets, did a short walk, caught up on a couple of blogs, watched the news, and relaxed.

After the rain, I am grateful for:

- Sunny days
- Daughter going with me to the dental appointments
- M's help with the garden
- Being able to shop with my daughter
- Working appliances

and, of course, whiskers on kittens!  LOL.

    1. You are welcome, Angela. Happy to oblige with Dancer pictures. :D My daughter loves cherries and strawberries, so I made cushions for her apartment with the cherry print fabric and when she came back, she brought the cushions with her. :)

  2. Dancer looks very comfortable! Dental appointments can help stressful, and I'm sure it was good to have your daughter there to help gather information as well. Always good to have a "second" pair of ears along at medical appointments.

    1. Dancer was curled up next to daughter on the sofa, taking one of his many naps. :)
I am so thankful that my daughter is able to go with me to these initial consultations; it's so helpful to have her there.

  3. It's always nice to have another set of ears when you go to an appointment that's not routine. And it's sounds like your daughter was especially good at that. It's nice that she was able to go with you.

    1. It's a blessing to have my daughter accompany me to these initial consultations. I am so thankful that she is able to take time off from work to go with me (she clears any time off with her supervisors well in advance and, so far, they have not objected).

  4. What a lovely blog post to read! I think it's always wise to take a loved one to a doctor's appointment, especially if they ask good questions.

    1. Thank you, Hannah Jane. It's good to have someone else there, at medical appointments, as an extra pair of ears and moral support, isn't it? :)

  5. Sometimes it's really nice to have someone accompany you to appointments. They can sometimes hear things that you miss as you're focusing on the negatives or scary!

    1. Exactly, Sharon. I get a bit overwhelmed at these medical appointments and my thoughts start to go in all directions! I don't like to ask many questions and my daughter is very good at asking questions. Even as a little girl, she was always asking questions. :)

I'm glad you had your daughter by your side at your appointment. I'm often anxious at anything like this, so I imagine she was a great support to you. And I hope your treatment plan is something you are comfortable with. Xx

    1. Thank you, Jules.
Yes, it was good to have my daughter with me when I went for the dental consultation. I have an appointment with the oral surgeon next week and results from that will determine my treatment options. I'm taking this one step at a time. The only thing that is certain is it is going to cost me a "pretty penny"!

It truly was a blessing to have my daughter with me at the appointment. Two pairs of ears are definitely better than one! :D
