Going By The Lists

Neptune Roses on Monday

Monday and Tuesday were busy days for me.  I knew I had made a rather ambitious to do list for Monday and it didn't surprise me when I needed to move some of it over to Tuesday.

This was my Monday To Do List:

- Call in Dancer's medication refill - DONE
- Make his appointment at the vet clinic for his injection - DONE
- Pick up my own medication from my pharmacy
- Go to the bank
- Meal plan - DONE
- Vacuum the living room and dining area (and kitchen and hallway) - DONE
- Take the trash cans out to the curb - DONE
- Dust the nightstand and chest of drawers (and dresser) in my bedroom (room of the week); do a quick sort through of the drawers - DONE
- Declutter 5 items - Decluttered 2 items - an empty pill container and the old rice pack/heating pad
- Laundry - DONE

I didn't go to the pharmacy or the bank because I needed to stay within easy access to a toilet on Monday!  Enough said!

Tuesday was an errands day.  Tuesday's To Do List looked like this:

- Pick up Dancer's meds - DONE
- Pick up my meds - DONE
- Pick up the library book that was being held for me - DONE
- Go to the dollar store - DONE (Didn't buy anything!)
- Bring in the empty trash cans - DONE
- Go to the bank
- Declutter

I didn't go to the bank, after all, and I didn't do any decluttering.  I had mac and cheese with ground beef for a very late brunch and waffles with cranberry sauce for dinner.  I had some crackers for a snack.

Neptune Roses on Tuesday

It is early morning on Wednesday as I write this.  Wednesday's To Do List:

- Order groceries - DONE
- Pick up groceries
- Go to the bank
- Tend to the garden with M
- Pay bills
- Start clearing my desk
- Vacuum my bedroom

During these busy days, I am grateful for:

- Safe drives to the various places I went to and back
- The availability of medications for both myself and Dancer
- Working appliances
- Libraries
- What I was able to get done

Meanwhile, Dancer said he couldn't be bothered:

Afternoon Nap
(Yes, that's his carrier pad - he uses it as his pillow)

How is your week coming along?

  1. I like to work from lists because they help focus me. You got a lot done off of yours. Glad to see that Dancer did his important job of finding a sunbeam 😸

    1. I am really leaning on my lists this week (and hopefully, during the rest of the month, too) as a way to improve my time management/tendency to procrastinate. It will also help me feel more productive.
Dancer has his own priorities, doesn't he? :D

  2. I love the photos of the roses, and that is the sweetest photo of Dancer with his improvised "pillow"!

    1. Thank you, Bushlady. I love seeing the daily changes as the roses bloom.
      Dancer loves his pillow!

  3. You had some long to-do lists, and you accomplished quite a lot. I brought home a lot of annuals so now I am getting them potted up, but very slowly! I think Dancer has the same right idea. There's never too many naps!

    1. Thank you, Celie. My daughter says my To Do Lists are too long! Sounds like you are busy gardening; your garden will look beautiful with all the new plants. Dancer spends a lot of his time napping, these days. How is your kitty? I'm sure she missed you while you were visiting your sister.

  4. Beautiful roses.
I like your lists. They are quite detailed. I think I might have to do that with mine so more is getting done

    1. Thank you, Sharon; I'm loving my roses, this year.
Yes, I like to make detailed lists. Because something like, "Clean the bedroom" can seem never ending to me because there are so many steps to cleaning my bedroom and I can't have the satisfaction of checking off the box until the whole room is cleaned. But, if I break it down to 'dust x,y,z and vacuum' I can check off each item when completed and that motivates me. I can see the progress.

  5. Busy days for you. It seems like you had a handle on it and got the things checked off your list.
That Dancer sure has the right attitude doesn't he? When life gets to you, take a nap.

    1. It took me almost all week, but, I got through last week's to do list (some items from Monday's list lingered for a few days). Now, it's a fresh week and I've a new To Do List! LOL. It never ends. I am trying to keep up with my lists in order to improve my time management.
Dancer does have the right attitude! Now, if only he'll amend some of his ways and relearn what the litter box is for! We are having some issues with that and I am not very pleased.

  6. I'm with Dancer. Everything seems like an effort at the moment.
I hope you're feeling better now, Bless. Xx

    1. I think Dancer and Boo have something in common when it comes to taking naps. How is Mog doing? I'm sorry that everything seems like an effort at the moment; I've felt like that from time to time, myself. I'm feeling better, now, thank you, Jules. It was a side effect of one of my medications; I don't like it, but, I have to take the stuff, so, I deal with the side effects as best I can.
