But, I hope you will be able to see a Mezuzah, one day. According to my friend (who is originally from France), when she decided to put up a Mezuzah on her own apartment door, her father worried that she might be subjected to hostility from her neighbors.Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-2183183048797505122021-03-10T11:37:12.520-08:002021-03-10T11:37:12.520-08:00I don't think I have ever seen a Mezuzah in re...I don't think I have ever seen a Mezuzah in real life... My mother always wanted things done a certain way, and, according to my daughter, so do I! LOL. I make my lists and go from there. I hope the lunch will be just as you'd want it to be. So appropriate to clean it. Enjoy the potluck dinner when your cousin hosts the Rosary. You have been attending for a long time. I think people enjoy your company due to how open minded you are and your gentle spirit.

I am still pulling together things for Easter. I think I forgot how much there is to do when you are the hostess and I am not getting any younger! I know it will all come together and be fine but I have a type "A " personality with wanting things to be organized.

SandySandyExpathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06279377160838411203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-89116531501840464942017-04-12T16:39:24.182-07:002017-04-12T16:39:24.182-07:00Thanks, Live and Learn. I was brought up as a Buddhist, but was exposed to several other religions when growing up. Several of my relatives were/are Christian/Catholics, neighbors and friends were Hindu or Muslim, etc. I believe one can be a good adherent of ones religion and still be respectful of other religions as well.Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-19517964820191207732017-04-12T15:46:43.237-07:002017-04-12T15:46:43.237-07:00Thank you, Andrea. :)Thank you, Andrea. :)Blesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16369267622517848850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-77460667410709795732017-04-12T15:41:36.833-07:002017-04-12T15:41:36.833-07:00It's very interesting to hear about how differ...It's very interesting to hear about how different people practice their faith. Not all were Catholic but they still felt drawn to the rosary. Fellowship with neighbors (and family) is important and you do a good job with both! Ah, organic maple syrup with fiber! It's bound to be a hit! Next year, you might have to add some sediment on purpose! Like Andrea's son I once had a reaction to Sulfa, fortunately not as severe but I was warned to stay away from it. Now I understand why. I am also familiar with St. Faustina and the Divine Mercy, and prayed the chaplet the other day for a former neighbour who I knew was dying, to ease his suffering. His wake was today and tomorrow we will go to his funeral.

I was very interested in the Mezuzah. It is a beautiful object to have, to remind you of the God who loves all people whatever their faith. It is lovely that you respect it and not only allow it to remain but are caring for it.

We bottled 11 litres of syrup yesterday and discovered some sediment that didn't get picked up by the filter press, but it is harmless, and comes from the tree.
BushladyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7162428932122354536.post-88341728311018372032017-04-12T10:54:25.358-07:002017-04-12T10:54:25.358-07:00Andrea, thank you for telling me about St. Faustin...Andrea, thank you for telling me about St. Faustina and Divine Mercy, and about Medjuorje. I didn't know about them and have since looked them up. I once borrowed a book about the Catholic saints from the library and read it, but I'm afraid I don't really remember all the saints. Just a handful I know of for one reason or another: St. Anthony, St. Francis, St. Theresa, St. Jude, St. Peregrine, St. Thomas, etc. I am so glad your son was healed; that must have been very scary at the time.

The monthly rosary that my cousin will be hosting this month is said by a group of family and friends who meet once a month to say the rosary. Each one takes a turn to host the gathering. It has been continuing, without a single break, for about 35 years, now, if not more. I have been attending them on a more or less regular basis for the past 25 years. I don't recite the rosary, myself, but appreciate the opportunity for prayer and fellowship. One of my kids, when young, had an allergic reaction to a sulfa drug (You can get this allergic reaction from any antibiotic, not just sulfa). He had Stevens Johnsons syndrome which got worse and became TENS disease. He was miraculously healed. This basically makes you a burn victim from the allergy. It was awful, but we prayed to St. Faustina and Divine Mercy. That is neat your cousin is doing the rosary. We do it nightly (my family) and we believe in Medjuorje. My grandparents were from Croatia and Medjuorje is near that, an Apparition site. AndreaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
