2019 New Year's Resolutions and Balanced Life Goals for January

My 2019 New Year resolutions will be the same as my 2018 resolutions: pursue good health, better time management, being organized, being positive, and living a balanced life.

Resolution 1:  Continue to pursue good health by keeping all medical appointments, taking my prescribed medications, eating a healthy diet (more vegetables, less refined sugar and carbs), drinking enough water and staying hydrated, increasing my activity levels to build up stamina and strength,  and getting more sleep and rest.

Resolution 2:  Better time management by procrastinating less and attending to things right away and getting them done.

Resolution 3:  Be more organized by decluttering, having a place for everything and  making a habit of having everything in its place.

Resolution 4:  Be more positive by focusing on accomplishments.

Resolution 5:  Maintain a balanced life, by paying attention to all the different areas of my life.

I plan to continue to incorporate them into my Monthly Balanced Life Goals to make sure they are worked on throughout the year.  The monthly balanced life goals are how I plan to implement my annual resolutions.

So, here are my Monthly Balanced Life goals for January:

Anyone else making New Year's Resolutions?  If so, how do you implement your resolutions?

  1. Goodness me, what a comprehensive list. You already have my admiration for being positive and seemingly well organised. If you manage to bring this lot off, you will truly have achieved superwoman status. May I add one more resolution for you - Resolution 6 - Be kind to yourself; celebrate those other intentions that you achieve and refuse to beat yourself up about any that you don't. Happy New Year. X

    1. Thank you, Eloise. I like the 6th resolution! It's what my daughter has been telling me I should do! It is what my 4th resolution is intended to be - focus more on the positives, what I've accomplished, etc., and not on what I didn't do. :)

  2. I've already posted my resolutions and goals update (on 31/12/2018). I'm glad I followed your example and started recording and monitoring my goals (it does make a difference doesn't it), so thank you for setting such a good example.

  5. I have no resolutions this year, but I do have aims and goals. I am a breaker of resolutions but will actually work toward a goal. Somehow to me it seems less restrictive.
You are one of the most positive bloggers I read so I am not sure how you can be more positive this year. I am in awe of your gratitude posts daily.
Wishing you the best year ever!

  6. I have set several goals for the first 6 months of the year. Depending on how those go, I'll have more goals later. I need to have a time limit, otherwise I tend to postpone things. Not that I don't postpone things even when there's a time limit, but it helps. :)

I like your resolutions and monthly goals. I chuckled when I read "try to go to sleep before 4:00 a.m". Heheee I think I'll totally do something like that after I retire. :)

    1. I saw your goals post, Nil, and you have some excellent goals. I like having a time limit for goals; it enables one to measure progress, better, I think. Yes, a more reasonable bedtime, for me, is something I need to work on! :)

  7. Yes, I have been "working" at goals for the New Year's and hope to post them soon. I injured my thumb on Dec. 30th (slammed it in the car door) and as a result do not have full range of my right hand yet. I am not doing much of anything these past couple of days, but sleeping a lot. I am pecking out the letters on the keyboard with the pointer finger of my right hand. Hoping that I will be able to recuperate quickly this week, and maybe get to post my New Year's goals.

    1. Ouch! Susan, I am so sorry to hear about you injuring your thumb! That must have been so painful! I hope you recover quickly, but don't try to overdo things! You can post your New Year's goals a bit later. Take care.
