Rest on Tuesday

I woke up feeling very tired, this morning, and called in to take a sick day off.  Then, I slept most of the day!  They were jackhammering the garage floor, next door, but I slept through the noise!  I guess I was really tired.

I did get up once to bring the trash cans in and collect the mail.  The next door construction crew were blocking my drive way, again;  I asked them to move their equipment and they did.  They could have parked their equipment on the other side of the street, but they prefer to park as close to the work site as possible.  I wasn't planning to go anywhere, but I don't like having my drive way blocked.

The mail included someone else's bank statement!  It had been delivered to the wrong address!  Same house number but a different street!  I put it back in the mail box, with the address circled, saying it was delivered to the wrong address.  I hope they deliver it to the correct address.

Later in the evening, I called my sister and spoke with her for a bit; then, watered the front garden and did a little more cleaning and housework.

It was another hot day, today, but it is supposed to cool off on Friday, with even a chance of rain!

Today, I am grateful for:
- I am able to take time off from work as needed
- I was able to sleep through the noise of jack hammering, next door
- Getting a few things done around the house
- A nice chat with my sister

    1. I am feeling much better, today, thank you, Live and Learn. I am glad I was able to listen to what my body was saying and took the time to rest, without trying to push through it.

  2. Clearly your body was crying out for sleep so wise to take the day off. Do hope you feel more like your old self today.

For the longest time every day we would have a different mail person and service was truly bad. The attitude seemed to be just deliver it and doesn't matter if it ends up where it belongs. About one month ago we were assigned a regular mail man and things have improved. All in all I think the service has really gone down hill. Very sad isn't it?

Oh meant to say I would also be eating the yogurt and apples at work not so much the doughnuts. The Koru New Zealand apples are very crisp/slightly tart and a nice size. I would buy them again if the price is right but all things being equal will go back to Gala which to me is a little sweeter.

    1. Sandy, it's been a long time since I slept the whole day, like that! But I feel better, today.

Seems like I am always getting someone else's mail! The house number agrees, but the street is different! Once, it was UPS delivered a big package meant for someone else, but there was a phone number on the package and I was able to call and have the person come over to my house to pick up their package. Another time, FedEx delivered someone else's items!

  4. I hope you're feeling more rested now Bless. You really must have needed that sleep.
I can sympathise with the workmen situation. One near neighbour has just had their roof re-tiled and another had their driveway resurfaced. There have been trucks and vans blocking the road for the last two weeks now. X

    1. Yes, thank you, Jules. I've been told that more walking and exercise will help with my sleep patterns and general well being, so I am working on that. Many false starts, though!

This morning, I noticed that another neighbor was having his driveway redone, so there are work crews working on that, as well.

  5. I think tiredness, emotional, physical, mental, builds up to a point when the body says STOP...and gives us no choice but to sleep. I do sympathise.

    1. Thanks, Eloise. I am sure you are right. I keep pushing myself, thinking I should be recovered by now and able to do what I used to do. I guess it is taking me longer to recover than I thought it would. Feeling better, today.

  6. That was a good "nap" you had, you obviously needed it. Sometimes our bodies cry out for a rest! Mine has been doing that for over a week and still I kept on because of events that I didn't want to miss. I could tell I was fighting off something. Well, Tuesday I didn't want to miss an appointment with my heart doctor, 100 miles away. I didn't feel too bad, just not too good. We had a lovely visit with DS and family afterwards before heading home.

    1. Bushlady, hope all is well and you are feeling better, now. I didn't want to push myself because I remembered feeling this tired last year, when I was getting ready for the almsgiving, and what happened when I pushed myself too much! Didn't want that to happen, again!

  7. Bless you really should talk to your physician about your persistent insomnia. It's really not good to miss out on adequate sleep at night. Your body is still in the healing stage and needs time to recharge. So worried about you my tired friend.

    1. Thank you, Carolyn. I will mention it to my doctor. She did want to give me sleeping pills, but I would rather not take any.
